Bernardo Barajas-Garrido  

Fitness Philosophy: Bernardo sees fitness as a journey of self-discovery. For him, exercise should never be a chore, but rather, a part of your day that you are looking forward to. His focus is fitness for the real world – from helping individuals move more freely in their everyday lives, to preparing amateur hikers for big treks as well as those that are looking to get into the police, army, and firefighting forces. He also enjoys helping elite athletes fine tune their skills to further excel in their athletic endeavors. Bernardo’s methodology is unique and built upon years of experience, education, and experiences with different fitness models, sports, and philosophies. 

Certifications:  MovNat trainer lvl 2, YMCA Personal Trainer, Pre- and Post-natal fitness specialist, Adaptive Fitness Specialist (Disabilities) and has years of experience in different Martial Arts (Kung-fu, TKD, Karate, Aikido, Capoeira).

Fun Facts: Bernardo comes from a multicultural background, has an energetic disposition, and is a friendly character. He is an outdoor enthusiast and has worked as a rescue scuba diver, an outdoor adventure guide, and Vertical Reality Rock Climbing gym. He offers his services and expertise in English, Spanish and French. 

Tara McDougall 

Fitness Philosophy: Tara believes that fitness is the fabric of one’s life – in and of itself or to aid in the pursuit of life goals. She has spent the better part of 29 years coaching young athletes and one of her focuses is helping young athletes improve their performance – whether that is correcting muscle imbalances, developing power and strength, or working on coordination and fine motor skills. Tara also enjoys working with women over the age of 40. She believes that it is important to train smarter, not “harder”, to build and maintain confidence and strength, keep our bodies healthy, and to achieve youthful aging. For Tara it is not just about teaching or coaching, but about motivating and being a part of each other’s journeys. 

Certifications: CanFit Pro Certified Personal Trainer, 10+ years of experience as a Personal Trainer

Fun Facts:  Tara is a full of life kind of person that has been in the fitness and sports arena for a while. She was a competitive skater at the Senior National level and has been teaching figure skating at the Minto Skating Club for over 28 years, working with skaters from grassroots to the Provincial and National levels. 

Kevin Ogilvie 

Fitness Philosophy: Kevin strives to help his clients create a positive relationship with fitness while improving their self-confidence. He gives his clients a unique and enjoyable workout routine through his functional fitness approach. Whether Kevin is helping his clients improve their balance, correct muscle imbalances, develop power, aiding with joint tightness, or developing the performance of young athletes – he takes a holistic approach. 

Certifications: CanFit Pro Certified Personal Trainer, MovNat Trainer Level 1, Fitness and Health Promotion – Algonquin College 

Fun Facts: Growing up Kevin was a multi-sport athlete and has been involved in many sports including hockey, football, basketball, running, and tennis. As a young athlete, Kevin struggled with his body image but was able to use his relationship with fitness to develop his self-confidence. 

Chelsea Passmore 

Fitness Philosophy: Chelsea strives to work together with her clients to create a fitness routine that gives them more ease of movement and helps to prevent injury in their daily lives. Her own experiences with scoliosis and dance injuries drive her passion for everyday fitness – she believes that no one should injure themselves doing everyday things like carrying groceries or playing with their kids. The somatic training Chelsea has received while studying dance and seeking treatment for injuries from several physiotherapists is an added tool in her toolbox. Chelsea loves learning about her clients and enjoys working with a variety of ages and abilities.

Certifications: CanFitPro Certified Personal Trainer, 200 Hour Hatha, Radiant Child and Conscious Communication Yoga Instructor Program, School of Dance – Contemporary Dance Graduate

Fun Facts: Chelsea has a background in fashion modeling and rhythmic gymnastics. Her modelling career allowed her to live in several cities around the world including New York City, Milan, and Paris. Chelsea is also a professional contemporary dancer/choreographer, hatha yoga teacher, mother, and gym enthusiast.

Imad Khaddaj

Fitness Philosophy: Imad focuses on teaching “body movements” guided by the breath. His goal is to work with his students on developing functional movements that help them improve their everyday life. From a background of Yoga, Martial arts, and fitness, Imad is all about finding fun and creative ways to help you improve your overall health. He loves educating youth about his many experiences and methodology in the health and fitness world, hoping to leave his mark and make a positive impact.

Certifications: Martial arts teacher from American Kick-boxing Academy, 200 hrs Vinyasa Ashtanga RYT, 40 hrs Yin Yoga RYT, and Canfitpro Personal Trainer

Fun Facts: Imad moved to Thailand in 2015 for two years Learning mixed martial arts. Following his dreams was the best decision he made in his life. He loves cooking, running, reading, and spending time with friends and family. He’s also a Big fan of Naruto and likes to watch Anime.
