This past weekend, the Rideau Sports Centre had the honour of hosting the Boys U14 National Selections, and one of our very own athletes made it a weekend to remember. A massive congratulations to Eli Marks, who captured the singles championship in front of a home crowd!
Eli, a dedicated member of our National Team Training Group, demonstrated exceptional skill, focus, and resilience throughout the tournament. Competing against some of the top young talent from across the country, Eli rose to the challenge and delivered clutch performance after performance to earn the top spot.
Winning a national-level title is an incredible achievement on its own — but doing it on home turf, surrounded by friends, coaches, and a supportive local community, makes it even more special. Eli’s victory is a testament not only to his hard work and determination but also to the strength of the high-performance training environment at RSC.
The weekend wasn’t over for Eli after his singles triumph. He and his doubles partner, Jacob, put on a strong showing and fought their way to the finals. In a nail-biting match, the duo narrowly missed out on the doubles title, falling in a closely contested tiebreaker. It was an incredible effort from both players and showed great teamwork and heart.
We are beyond proud of Eli’s accomplishments and the example he sets for fellow athletes. His success is an inspiration to everyone in our RSC tennis community and a glimpse into the bright future ahead.
