Job Summary 

 

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for all thing marketing end-to-end, you will be responsible for strategy through to execution.   

We’re looking for a hybrid social media manager + content producer + graphic designer to create and support activities aimed at engaging and expanding our client base. This individual will collaborate daily with teams across RSC to develop best-in-class content across our website, social media platforms and weekly newsletters 

The ideal candidate will be internet culture obsessed; the type of person who loves and interacts with internet culture daily and possesses a deep understanding of how people digest and engage with social content. They should also be a talented and witty social copywriter, have experience with social community management and stay up-to-date on emerging platforms, industry trends, and best practices. They must also have experience in communications management and liaising with cross-team stakeholders to manage a publishing calendar. 

The ideal candidate will also have a passion for sport, community and connection. 

 

Key Duties 
 

  • Work cross-functionally across all areas of the organization to deliver high-quality, high-impact marketing support. Manage these relationships to ensure on-time and on-budget execution. 
  • Help design and implement marketing and advertising campaigns by assembling and analyzing data, preparing marketing and advertising strategies, plans, and objectives. 
  • Manage our web presence including managing our website through WordPress and ensuring content is up to date. Some basic HTML & CSS we’ll be required and training will be provided. 
  • Manage our mobile app to ensure all content is current and correct. 
  • Manage our social media and external communications by creating and scheduling social media content, drafting and distributing press releases, creating newsletters, email campaigns, etc. 
  • Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news) 
  • Monitor and manage SEO and web traffic metrics 
  • Lead internal and external communications including internal updates, email marketing campaigns, monthly newsletters, etc. using tools such as Mailchimp and Salesforce. 
  • Coordinate with the Director of Marketing to plan and execute all Website, SEO, Email marketing, SMS marketing, influencer marketing, Google & Facebook advertising campaigns, etc 
  • Other tasks as required 

  

 

Experience & Education 

  • Experience developing social media strategies and growing loyal audiences; you’ve grown Instagram accounts and can explain how you did it  
  • Experience working with stakeholders from other teams to implement Social or Marketing frameworks or processes    
  • Proven ability optimizing content for social media algorithms and analyzing analytics  
  • Ability to write and refine engaging social media copy 
  • Obsessed with social; you live on social platforms and enjoy staying up-to-date on breaking trends, memesand viral content 
  • Strong visual eye with regard to the creation of graphics, selection of images, and creation of video for social publishing 
  • Experience in hybrid social media management / content creation roles 
  • Proficient understanding of social media platforms (FaceBook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) 
  • Obsessed with social, you live on social platforms and are constantly aware of breaking trends, memes, and viral content  
  • Demonstrated experience in developing social media content from start to finish (high level concepts to publication) 
  • Strong visual eye with regard to the creation of graphics, selection of images, for social publishing 
  • Ability to write engaging social media copy 
  • Exceptional attention to detail, project management, and organizational skills 
  • Experience managing a publishing calendar with multiple stakeholders 
  • Self-starter with ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 
  • Post secondary education with an emphasis in Marketing, Advertising or Graphic Design 
  • Fluency in English and French preferred 

 

Knowledge 

  • Strong digital marketing skills with the ability to strategically leverage paid and owned media channels for the optimal results 
  • Strong content marketing skills from conceptualization to editing, publishing, optimizing for SEO 
  • Experience using marketing platforms for CRM (eg. Salesforce, Hubspot), analytics (Google Analytics/FB Insights), content management systems, and social media tools 
  • Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, Google+, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios 
  • Solid all-round communications experience including media relations, website content management, digital marketing and social media  
  • Graphic design skills, including proficiency with Adobe Suite, Canva, WordPress and other tools used to design and create compelling social and communications content and assets  
  • Copywriting and proofreading experience in establishing the case for support and framing strong, compelling copy in press materials, newsletters, websites, blogs and social media

Job Summary 

We are a busy little restaurant within the Rideau Sports Centre that offers lunch, brunch, and dinner. As well as an events portfolio that caters weddings, business events, baby showers, birthdays, tournaments, etc. Every Wednesday night there is Live music. A vast array of different clientele such as sports teams, neighbourhood families, date night couples are a part of what makes this an amazing place to be where no two days are the same. The Rideau Sports Centre is a thriving facility with a fun, family feel from the second you walk in the door. 

We offer competitive wages based on experience, as well as a benefits package after the probation period. The ideal candidate would have experience working in a fast-paced environment on the line, as well as having some knowledge of event preparation and production. They would work in conjunction with the other kitchen supervisor and the General Manager to ensure a smooth service while always being mindful of food quality and presentation. Also being responsible for general kitchen cleanliness and maintenance. 

Qualifications & Experience 

– Completion of Grade 12. Post secondary education is an asset. 

– Food Handlers Certification 

– WHIMIS certificate 

– 2 years working in a kitchen setting an asset but not mandatory

Position: Customer Service Representative & Sport Ambassador

Location: 1 Donald Street, Ottawa at the Rideau Sports Centre (RSC)

Responsible for providing customer services in a recreation and wellness facility, acting as the first point of contact, including: processing registrations, bookings and point of sales operations; liaise with customers and clients of other departments to ensure quality customer service and quality customer experience; providing related administrative support to facility programs, as assigned. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Interacting with clients and staff, in-person, by telephone and email in a pleasant, positive, informative and professional manner.

Job Summary 

Reporting to the Manager of Housekeeping Services, the Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment at Rideau Sports Centre. Cleanliness tracking and regular checks throughout the interior and exterior of the facilities is crucial to maintaining a positive experience for clients. 

Key Duties 

Provides a clean and welcoming environment at RSC by: 

Perform routine cleanliness checks throughout the facility to ensure cleanliness standards. Priority is given to high-traffic areas such as entranceways and washrooms. 

Maintain high attention to detail when performing regular cleaning and sanitizing duties such as; vacuuming, mopping, wiping surfaces, and dusting. 

– Sanitizing changerooms, washrooms, gym, Sun Studio and River Room. 

– Wash/dry soiled rags and launder as needed. 

Ensure access throughout the building is safe upon completion of cleaning (including using wet floor signage). 

– Respond to housekeeping requests and concerns as they arise. 

– Ensure garbage and recycling is emptied regularly throughout the facility. 

– Other tasks as assigned

Main entrance, including from the gate to the staircase. 

– First and second floor patios 

– Main Restaurant (The Bridge Public House)

Position: Maintenance Officer

Status: Full-time, 40 hour per week

Compensation: Based on experience 

Job Summary 

The Maintenance Officer will incorporate a number of different functions, responsible for the safety, functioning, physical wellness of the entire 4-acre property sport centre and restaurant indoors and outdoors. Responsibility also includes security and the health & safety of occupants (all clients and staff), ensuring all occupants are happy and getting the most from their environment – after all, the main objective is to keep a facility in the best working order possible in order to generate maximum revenue. 

The Maintenance Officer will work across a range of disciplines. 

  • Maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) 
  • Lighting, plumbing, and electrical inspections 
  • Ensuring fire safety systems are in working order 
  • Providing emergency responses 
  • Building Security 
  • Waste management services 
  • Supporting staff across departments 
  • Cleaning and washing facilities 
  • Maintenance and treatment of Outdoor Pool 
  • Landscaping and equipment operation 

Reports to: 

The Maintenance will report to the Property Manager of Rideau Sports Centre and The Bridge Public House. This position will play a key support role both organizations and complete the day-to-day facility initiatives as required for all occupants of the property. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Repairs and Maintenance 

• Garbage Removal 

• Lawn and Ground Maintenance 

• Snow Removal 

• Client & Staff Relations 

• Maintenance of Fire Safety Log 

• WHMIS and Other Legislation 

• Familiarity with Building Plumbing, Heating and Mechanical Systems, including pools hopefully 

• Maintaining Inventory of Supplies and Equipment 

  • Providing occupants with the right equipment and amenities 
  • Being compliant with health and safety regulations 
  • Making sure occupants are happy and safe through proper space management 
  • Ensuring the premises is kept secure 

Administrative duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 

1. Maintaining the tasks journal. 

2. Delivery of letters and notices provided by the Property Manager. 

3. Maintaining and documenting Property inspections (Interior & exterior). 

4. Completing and returning work orders issued directly by the Property Manager. 

5. Receiving packing and delivery slips on behalf of the Property Manager. 

6. Issuing and responding to requests by residents and owners for service elevator use. 

7. Reviewing and undertaking minor repairs within the common elements. 

Qualifications: 

  • Completed high school and ideally college, preferably with a focus in a trade. 
  • Minimum 2-5 years experience in Maintenance or hands-on fixing role 
  • Experience in Preventative maintenance, including implementing PM schedule and work order system 
  • Hands on experience in pool operations. Certified Pool Operator course completion would be preferred. 
  • HVAC experience in fixing and preventative maintenance 
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends based on needs of the business 
  • Experience working in a fitness centre and/or restaurant environment is considered a very strong asset. 
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset 

Skills Required: 

  • Hands-on ability to service, maintenance and fix onsite issues 
  • Highly organized and maintains a high level of professionalism at all times 
  • Familiarity with creating and working PO’s. 
  • Strong ability to establish relationships

Position:  Beer Tent Server

Start Date: As soon as possible until end of October.

Status: 20 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 6:00-11:00pm)

Compensation:  Server Minimum Wage

 

Job Summary 

Serve and sell beer in the Outdoor Beer Tent in the Ball Hockey & Beach Volleyball. Smart Serve certification required. Must be willing to work independently. Bilingualism an asset. Experience nice, but not required. Excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door to work in a fun restaurant, and gain experience!
