Join us WEDNESDAYS as we offer FREE Live Music every Wednesday Night 6:30-9:00pm on the covered Upper Deck overlooking the Rideau River.  There’s nothing better than listening to local Ottawa musicians, while eating delicious food, and enjoying great company! Rain or shine or heat!

Wednesday July 10th 6:30-9:00pm

Ottawa musicians KJ Thomas and Jim McDowell make up the duo of Tulips and Devilships. The real life couple drive the music with harmonious vocals, backed by a plethora of instruments including piano, guitar, banjo, ukulele, harmonica, and more. Songs hit all over the map from sweet and introspective, to quirky and fun. Familiar tunes will hit you with nostalgia, while original songs will unfold for you new stories and melodies to love. KJ and Jim let the room predict how the music gets played- easy listening, dancing, sing-along- whatever the show brings, you’ll be sure to enjoy a good time!

KJ Thomas hails from a long list of involvement in local music-with two full albums released, and having hit all kinds of stages from the intimate corners of pubs to huge festivals like RBC Bluesfest- she continues to reach for audiences of all types. Her experience draws from her own written music, and partnerships with amazing local bands such as Krystal Jyl and the Jacks, The Big Train Wreck, Ray Harris and the BSOBs, and Chris Landry and the Seasick Mamas.

Jim McDowell was born and raised in Ottawa, and his musical roots go deeper than most. A true master with bass, guitar, or piano-and vocals to spin any tale. Jim has played on stages both near and far; Canadian festivals, or cathedrals and pubs in Europe-he brings fun to any note he plays. Jim has performed with many bands including The VenDreddies, F, Bluestone, and Slugstone Road. Continuing to keep involved with local bands, Tulips and Devilships is his latest venture.

Jim and KJ met in May of 2017 when unsurprisingly, a music endeavor introduced them to each other. Since then, they have been inseparable-and from that, Tulips and Devilships was born.

Wishing you a wonderful week filled with Summer playtime!
