FREE Live Music EVERY WEEK at The Bridge Public House at RSC.

As of Wednesday, May 1st our Summer Live Music has moved back to Wednesday Nights 6:30-9:00pm. For the first few weeks, we will host indoors until it gets warmer to move out to the Covered Upper Deck overlooking the Rideau River.  There’s nothing better than listening to local Ottawa musicians, while eating playful & classic food, and enjoying great company!  Stay tuned for the listing of upcoming musicians in the next newsletter.

Wednesday May 15th 6:30-9:00pm: Jeff deValk

Jeff deValk calls Overbrook home but grew up north of Toronto listening to his dad’s reel-to-reel mixtapes, records and eight-tracks and singing in the church choir. At 13 he discovered his mother’s dusty guitar hidden in the back of a closet and hasn’t put it down since. Since moving to Ottawa in 2008, he has been involved in many different groups including the seven-piece soul band he leads called the Hornettes, and Little Bones, Ottawa’s original Tragically Hip tribute act. Jeff is currently writing and recording a long-overdue solo record influenced by the classic rock, gospel hymns, and old soul music he was raised on.

Wednesday May 28 6:30-9:00pm: Tyree Lush

Tyree Lush and Dana Arrowsmith have been performing in the Ottawa area and across Canada for the better part of two decades. Early days were spent touring folk festivals from coast to coast, performing original and traditional Celtic and East Coast music. Later branching out into rock, indie, and country, they now perform with various acts around the Ottawa area. But as a duo they still enjoy playing the traditional music that first brought them together. Traditional influences include Stan Rogers, Paul Brady, The Navigators, and Shannyganock. Some other favourites include Blue Rodeo, Tragically Hip, Steve Earl, and Eric Church, to name a few. This duo brings their unique style and genuine love of performing to every gig, whether it’s a formal event or a rowdy pub.
