We have heard your feedback, and decided to open up the RSC Tennis Courts on Good Friday (April 19) 12pm to 6pm. This will give you something fun and active to do on your day off!

NCTA Ottawa Ranking: RSC has Ottawa’s finest Tennis Pros & Instructors

National Capital Tennis Association (NCTA) published their Ottawa Ranking of Tennis Players in Ottawa. RSC has many of Ottawa’s finest Tennis Pros & Instructors!

Guest Pro Dale Power (Former Canadian Champion): Soiree & Lessons

Due to popular demand, we are hosting Former National Champion Dale Power at the Rideau Sports Centre April 10-20. 

Two great ways to interact with Dale while he is visiting Ottawa:

1) Come meet and greet this tennis legend at the Dale Power Soiree on Thursday, April 11that The Bridge Public House Restaurant. Drop-in anytime between 5:30-10:00pm to say hello to Dale.

2) Take a private or semi-private lesson with Dale anytime between April 10-20. All lessons must be paid at the time of booking, and booked 8 days in advance (otherwise the courts will be released for regular court booking).

Reminder: lessons must be booked 8 days in advance (otherwise the courts will be released for regular court booking).


Baby ‘n Me, Children and Family Yoga

Drop-in to any of these classes for $15 per child (plus HST).  We will be offering another series of Baby, Child and Family Yoga Programs right after this one, stay tuned for more information in the next RSC Newsletter.

Our Multi-Sport Dome has been busy these past few weeks hosting volleyball events and tournaments for Gay Ottawa Volleyball, Ottawa Fun Sports League, GlowSport and this upcoming weekend the Ottawa Sport & Social Club (OSSC).  If you want to play in this weekend’s OSSC Spring Classic Charity Volleyball Tournament as an Individual or Team – click here!

Sign-up as a Team or Individual in RSC’s 2nd full season of Dek Hockey leagues, while there are still spots left (Mens, Womens, Co-Ed, Children Divisions). Begin playing Hockey outdoors starting April 29th! 

Come out and try this fast-paced sport, and play all summer long on Ottawa’s ONLY DEK Hockey facility.  DEK Hockey is Quebec’s fastest growing sport, and RSC is excited to be growing this amazing new sport in Ontario and Ottawa We have options for everyone – whether you’ve never played before or you’re a competitive player … we have many skill levels!

RSC Discussion Group (NEW): “Brexit: What’s Next” on Tuesday, April 23

We’ve come up with yet another way for you to have fun at the Rideau Sports Centre.  RSC Discussion Groups will be a new FREE monthly presentation on various topics which could include: politics, film, health & wellness, wine tastings, sport, games nights…and more. If you have ideas on what you’d like to see in this series, please email with your ideas.

Our 1st event will be on Tuesday April 23, 7-9pm: “Brexit: What’s Next”

This ever-changing political phenomenon called BREXIT is of interest to many people, so come and learn more about it or debate the finer points of Remain vs Leave.

The session will be moderated by Julian Coulter who recently settled in Ottawa after a career in the British Foreign Service, spending most of his time in the Middle East and Eastern Europe when not at home in Putney, London.  He speaks a number of languages including Turkish, Arabic and Russian.

Julian will offer an insider-outsider perspective and promises not to use the word “Trump”!

Friday April 12: Brandon Witters & Mark Weatherbee

Mark and Brandon, AKA, Weatherbee and Witters have been making waves around the Ottawa music scene four years and counting.They have shared their stages with great local talents; Al Wood,Clint Everson, Leona & Steve, Erth Juce and many more. Highlights including Canada’s Inspiration Village Celebrations,The Laff, Westboro Beach, Rainbow, Atomic Rooster and Irene’s. With a mix of Original and old school cover tunes with a distinctive blues twinge and some special guests from their extended music family ,every performance is different and memorable.  

Friday April 19: Angele Ramsden (Jazz/Easter Dinner)

Singer/songwriter Angele Desbois is a seasoned performer in various genres (pop, jazz, and funk/soul). She lights up the stage with energy, engaging showmanship, and enchants the audience throughout the show. “Four Letter Word” (pop/rock EP, produced with Toronto producer, Jamie K) set a great launching point for Angele’s music endeavors. “Singularity” was a full length jazz-pop fusion album recorded in accomplished studios from coast to coast. Working collaboratively with producers and studios from Vancouver, Owen Sound, Montreal, and Halifax, this ambitious endeavor earned her a nomination for “Solo Album of the Year” at NOMFA’s gala. She has happily settled in Ottawa performing at the local jazz festivals in the area.

Friday April 26: The Big Train Wreck

The Big Train Wreck is a four piece tight knit group serving up melodic folk with a side of honky tonk blues. Hand clapping, foot stomping fireside favourites from the best song-grafters like Johnny Cash, Neil Young, and John Prine, Plus original songs that keep the rootsy Americana groove rolling.
