Yoga for ALL Ages: Baby n’ Me Yoga, Children’s Yoga, & Family Yoga

RSC is VERY  HAPPY to announce Baby n’ Me Yoga! There has been an increasing demand for a parent & baby class and we have found the perfect instructor. Lucia (as seen in the photo above) is a Yoga Alliance RYT 200 with specialized training in children’s, pre/postnatal yoga and yoga for pelvic health.  Her love of yoga and teaching (in many different realms) began more than 10 years ago, but her passion for teaching yoga really grew with the birth of her son, Benicio. She now offers parent and baby/tot, pre/postnatal and various hatha classes. Lucia takes a gentle and nurturing approach, and seeks to foster a balance of movement, calm and community in all of her classes. She loves to spend time designing unique sequences and connecting with students, to ensure all yogis — big and small — feel cared for and supported in their practice.

Baby n’ Me Yoga

The parent + baby class offers a space to honour and nurture the body, mind & spirit alongside your new little one, and to share the experience with other families. This class focuses on using gentle movement to help busy parents (re)connect with their bodies, and on developing breath and other practices that can help them navigate parenthood with grace and ease. Parents are invited to engage with their children throughout the class through massage/touch, sound, textures/colours, shared poses and simply enjoying time together. Each class begins and ends with time and space for parents to connect with each other as well.

Parents and babies at all stages are welcome. Parents are encouraged to respond to their own/their children’s needs throughout the class.

Through constant touring right out of high school he has already become a regular on the southern Ontario club scene with live shows including audience requests, mashups, sing alongs, loop pedals and a vast repertoire of popular covers. He has also journeyed across Canada multiple times in the last 3 years on self-booked, self-promoted tours, and taken trips between Toronto and Nashville while recording his first album. His mix of self reflective songwriting and influence from a wide variety of genres offer a taste of the world while staying personal, compelling and the kind of music that winds it’s way into people’s souls.

Since moving to Ottawa in 2008, he has been involved in many different groups including the seven-piece soul band he leads called the Hornettes, and Little Bones, Ottawa’s original Tragically Hip tribute act.
